It is interesting and highly revealing that while it is thought that paedophiles can be 'cured ', hence the 'sex offenders programme', homosexuals can not. be.
Indeed it is an offence in some quarters even to suggest it.

Because practicing paedophilia is a criminal offence, whereas consensual adult homosexual and heterosexual activity are not.
