This as the Holds know only too well can be a lifeline for many local contractors in such hard times.
The secret is of course that once on the approved list is to visit the contracts manager as often as possible and ask has there any work come in, thereby being first in the queue!

Absolute sick of Conwy Council's "Pretense of fairness.."
it will work only if the Holds don't see anyone else' quotes so they can undercut people just to get the work
Simple way to sort this out vote them both out come may elections.
I Might be going off this story a bit, but I live in deganwy, why have the council and g purchase put up a scaffold on 1 house on the street in the past 6 months 3 times, is this a money spinner for g purchase, i am duly paying towards this.
and yet if I have an extra black well sealed refuse sack because my bin is full 1 week, the refuse men refuse to take it, i think it might be a good idea to start putting your additional refuse sack on bodlondeb doorstep

Everyone knows that the Holds have got wealthy because of their crooked council "contracts"....this firm of "builders" are unqualified and have never had a private client.
I wouldn't call either of them wealthy. They earn a modest wage and live in modest houses and don't ponce about in flashy cars etc. unless you know otherwise, they do actually have private clients as I for one have been a client of theirs more than once and have been perfectly happy with the work. They do very little for the county now as the council obviously prefer to contract in more expensive workers from out of the area? That and the fact Oscar and his cronies nearly put Mike out of business. Nice that!
