Power to The People!

City drowning in rubbish: 10,000 TONS of waste pile up on streets of Marseilles in chilling echo of British 'winter of discontent'

The French Government have put the retirement ago there up to 62, ours is going to go up to 66.
As usual you have to give it to the French, unlike like us, who accept with barely a whimper, they are up in arms over the change, I say as usual because whenever anything happens over there they don't agree with they are up in arms and onto the streets.
The middle classes in this Country look set to be shafted over the next few years and all they will do is moan and pay up.
Power to the people, not here it ain't!

Oscar

This this new-found admiration for anarchy and violence doesn't quite ring true.

Were you really quite as supportive 20 years ago, when the poll tax rioters were rampaging in London?

Or did you think they should have been rounded up and shot for daring to oppose your friend Margaret Thatcher?

Oscar. I find in life that when talking about something it is usually useful to know something about it rather than repeat the piffle printed in the Daily Mail. In France:
1. 60 is the age at which people can retire early, (provided they have paid their 40.5 years social security contributions.)this is what is being proposed to be raised to 62.
2. French people retire at 65 and this is when they get their full state pension. The proposal is that this should increase to 67 by 2018.
3. A French person has to work 40.5 years to qualify for their full state pension. The proposal is that this should increase to 41.5 years. How long do we hard working Anglo-Saxons have to work to qualify for our full state pension? 30 years!
As you can see there is more to the pension issue than the Mail's cheap characterisation of those lazy revolting French.
There is more to the anger than the pension reform, see for example: http://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/0,1518,725250,00.html

If we were not in the common Market (sorry E.U.) this would not matter, as we were conned and cheated by Blair and Brown, then we have to ask how much is this going to cost us, because it will. We pay for the french farmers and fishermen so we will end up paying for this.

Did you see that you were picked up as one of the Daily Dozen on Iain Dale for Tuesday? His new boy is from Cardiff - that's progress for you!

"Flashing Blade" There's much more of a mixture in England than merely Angles and Saxons.

What an erroneous term, "Anglo Saxon"

You sound like an American who has less culture than a pot of natural yogurt.

Flash your blade baby, and I'll pop a cap in your ass!

I agree with Angie, thugs posts spoil an interesting topic very often. Shame really, he/she must lead a sad unhealthy life.
