As nice as a cycle track would be for the cyclists, I can not really see it happening or working here on Llandudno promenade yesterday they had this make do sort of cycle lane, and I am sorry to say, pedestrians in the long term must come first on the promenade in Llandudno, I just can not see how both would be able to get on in harmony.

Very nice, doesn't spoil the panoramic sweep of the promenade in any way. What lunatic comes up with these schemes?
They're not just the remains of the Triathlon staged on Sunday, perhaps?
"They're not just the remains of the Triathlon staged on Sunday, perhaps?"
They are just that, but it gave an idea yesterday just what it would be like to have cyclists going down the prom.
As much as I love bikes, and I do, I just can't see it working there.
get em on the roads and tax their, they are a bloody nuisance,no road sense, think they are above the law when it comes to road sign and signals
In which case, my mistake!
No problem with "normal" cyclists who use the cycle path along the prom, but those multicoloured Twats who insist on using the main road two abreast, they really have my steering wheel on twitch alert.
Are They from the Rhos club? if so they need to brush up on the highway code.No wonder they get squished now and then. anti social Bastards.
Jacko, when was the last time you read The Highway Code? Since they added the section on mobility scooters?
Cyclists have as much of a right to use the road as any motor driven vehicle. Quite a few times I have seen cyclists overtake pensioners driving into llandudno.
the problem is, anon, that some cyclists think they have the right to block the road by riding 2 abreast, by riding on the pavement at speed whenever they feel like it and ignoring the cycle lane along colwyn bay prom, forcing pedestrians to move out of their way. i walked along the prom last sun and several times had to move out of the way of bikes even though the cycle lane was empty, as they ride straight at you. i saw a whole family of cyclists riding along the narrow bit of pavement by the beach at rhos ringing their bell and expecting people to dive out of their way. damn inconsiderate is what it is.
The Promenade is rapidly becoming anything else BUT a promenade! Over past weeks it has been used as a race track, an exhibition centre, a car park, a boat park and an outdoor entertainment venue.
Maybe it is time to return it to pedestrians.
Jacko,
You sound like a really caring and considerate chap, thats if you are infact a male person. I really like your choice of language, it says a lot about you. Maybe you have a medical condition affecting your driving if you are suffering from steering wheel twitch and maybe its you being anti-social with your use of blasphemous language on your comment.
By the way the multicoloured tops are probably needed to get themselves seen !!!
