Perhaps as he has promised the many people of Conwy Cllr Tobbin can sort out the town Of Conwy's own bomb site soon.Their very own Nuclear bomb site.I doubt that he has much influence to able to deliver his promise, neither for that matter does Cllr Vaughan, it is alleged that the old fruit and fibre shop is owned by a friend of Joan, hence the silence from her.The mess on Lancaster square seems set to carry on and on, it has being there for as long as many of the residents of Conwy, we are talking a long time!Hardly fair on the other business's around the town and in particular that area, for many have and are trying hard to survive in this harsh climate, not helped by the council very much

Conwy appears blighted by the fact that some Councillors have for a number of years bent over backwards to avoid issues that have harmed Conwys reputation, and it appears it still goes on. To many private meetings and to many favours being done for friends (alledgedley), some problems appear to difficult so they leave it till later.
From what I have seen of some they are more concerned about their ego,s than doing anything meaningful. You only have to watch some of them parade around the town in various states, displaying their impotence! Perhaps we could have some new titles for them. They would have to earn them of course so maybe, "Councillor for Favours to friends" or "Councillor for promoting drink and drunkeness in Conwy"
or even "Councillor for passing important confidential information to friends".
"Councillor for lost causes"
"Councillor with the largest ego"
"Councillor for silly remarks"
"Councillor with the most unrealistic view on reality"
Then we could always have the "The most ineffective Councillor"
I can see there is going to be some fierce competition....
Bit tongue in cheek really there are some good ones, aren,t there!!
Cllr Joan walks past the place enough on her way to the pubs.
Why has she said so little?
Because you are correct, that is why Oscar.
anyone know what is going to happen to a shop on lancaster square. its the one where they wanted to open a sex shop, if anyone remembers that. think it has been about 3 years since they tried to open that and since then it has sat empty!
When you slate the councillors just remember that it is the public`s fault, after all they were stupid enough to vote them in.
AND it seems that it is the same people that sits on the council for YEARS and YEARS and the public still moans and then votes for them again.
I understood this site was owned by Billy Rowlands of the Cottage Loaf fame. In the early 1980's, he wanted permission to combine his tobacconists with Stanges fruit and veg shop on Mostyn Street Llandudno. It was said at the time to be a condition of the planning permission that the delightfully ornate shop fronts from Mostyn Street were to be incorporated into his planned shopping arcade development on this site in Conwy. A quarter of a century has passed but still nothing has happened, except that Llandudno has lost another part of it's heritage for good.
The other bomb site in Conwy is of course the quay. So the proposed scheme has fallen apart, so what, at least the Council should plaster the derelict buildings with some form of artists impression to inform holidaymakers that there are plans afoot to do something with this eyesore. It doesn't even have to be an accurate representation, just something to hint that the Council has a vision for the future of Conwy.
Without any sign to the contrary, visitors are justifiable in their conclusion that Conwy is simply falling apart at every turn.
Come on Conwy, it's been years now. Do something, anything in fact, dare I say it, constructive!
I can only conclude from looking around Conwy for a number of years and seeing the results of the Council labours on the Quay and elsewhere, that we are in deep doodoo. The council allowed the standard of work to continue on the quay although it was obvious to an idiot that they where cutting corners and hadn,t got a clue how to lay flags or cobbles. The bomb sites in Conwy (after all these years) speak volumes for the elected Councillors and their respective abilities. They spend so long patting each others backs, telling themselves what a great job they do, they must actually believe it themselves. How can any self repecting Councillor walk past the eyesores in Conwy (World Heritage site!! you have to laugh dont you) year after year and do nothing about it.
I agree with all that has been said, I having said the same for years.
My family has business connections going back for near 50 years, and all we have seen is a steady decline in Conwy's fortunes, due in a lot of ways the cack handed manner in which the council handles things.
Joan Vaughan is a disgrace, and Tony has not done much better him self.
Was he not a cabinet member for regeneration?
Don't make me laugh!
A bit late in making a comment but the amusing thing is that everyone evn the Council know it as The Bomb Site. All this I might add in a small Woprld Heritade site in view of the statute of Llewelyn Ap Iorwerth. Now theres a man he would have cut all there heads off with one slice of his sword.Small brains ony need small heads
